  Richard,
  This is an internal skin for the rear of a fastback Spitfire hardtop, I think a "Sebring" or one of the other versions that preserve the central fuel filler. Not an "Ashley".

    many thanks for that. To be honest Ive never had a clue what it was, I just kept it in the loft for 13 years "incase" it was of some use.
    
    unfortunatly thats the only part I have. My car when I stripped it many years ago for restoration was probably made up of about 3 others with differerent colours of bonnet/door/boot under the main colour. So the previous owner "could" have had several spits in the past and made a whole out of one.
    
    Im definatly not going to bin it now! , Off to do a bit more research on Hard tops I think.

      Please don't bin it. Remember this thing is made of solid unobtanium. At least offer it on Ebay; better hang onto it until next years Stafford or another swapmeet.
      It's been hidden in your loft for X years, while someone somewhere will want it. Give them a chance to get together!

        Misunderstanding I think. I wasnt intending on "binning it". It was just a phrase I was using ie "I didnt want to bin it "until" I found out what it was". If it was off a boat for instance then it would be gone already.
        
        But as were now going down the lines of an original bit of kit for a triumph, rest assured I "wont" be taking it to the tip.
        
        I'll give it a cleanup now, as the the way it looks in the pictures is just 13 years of loft grime. A bit of soapy water then polish should do it a world of good.

            I posted on this club message board because I thought I'd find some serious members who were willing to help.
            
            Its either one thing or another thats all I want to know.
            
            If I wanted silly conversation I would have gone to usenet.
            
            This is not what I expect on the TSSC Message board. So keep it sensible. For I wont be hanging around these parts if this is what happens when a simple question is presented.
