Wonder if I'll get lucky this year?? Off on hols tomorrow morning at sparrows wotsit to Gran Canaria for 2 weeks of sun worship!! When I was there last year (roughly the same time) I did wonder if I'd spot any triumphs but it wasn't to be. I did however spot an MG (washes mouth out with whisky!) in Puerto Rico - UK plated and taxed and right hand drive!! Must see if I can go one better this year!!

(No - I aint gonna spend my hols triumph spotting either!!

    Well I saw a J-plate Red GT6 in Venn Ottery, Devon, a Dolly on a trailer on the A30 between Ottery St. Mary and Exeter, and a White G-plate GT6 on the M5 just north of Exeter - all whilst in the Big Red Bus - good to see at least one other Triumph out getting wet and dirty!

      Hello from sunny Gran Canaria!! Ain&180;t spotted anything resembling a british sports car yet let alone anything looking like a Triumph!! Oh well, back to the Tequila sunrise&180;s and sun worshipping!!

        Ha!! Spotted a red TR7 parked up at the side of the road today!! Only prob was that I was on a local bus to the beach, didn&180;t have my camera with me and when returning along the same route it was gone!! Oh well, back to wining and dining!!

        Since I started working in Sheffield i've seen a few Triumphs about the place. I saw a Red MKIII spitfire which i'm sure i've seen on the Spitfire Graveyard site. I've also seen a white TR4, a red spitfire MKIV with gunmetal grey minilites & Lenham hardtop on Ecclesall road, and a Herald parked at the side of the road near Crookes, which I think was Crookesmoore road. I also saw a very nice White spitfire parked outside a garage in Hillsborough, just off Holme lane.

        There seem to be an inordinate number to Triumphs trundling around Banbury at the moment - over the past couple of weeks I have seen at least three stags, a lovely powder blue Herald who I inadventantly flashed my lights and waved at forgetting I was in the boring Renault Scenic so he has probably got me written off as a lunatic.
        
        There is also a Spitfire in a suprisingly natty union jack livery.
        
        Just wondering if there are enough Triumphs in the Banbury area to get together as a small local group for a beer?

        When I had my MK1 GT6 I saw another coming towards me in Edinburgh. Unfortunately I was too slack jawed to wave as it was the only time I'd ever seen another GT6 of any description and I was gob smacked at how small it looked - when you sit behind that bonnet it's easy to fell you're in something the size of an E-Type!
        
        Last summer during the Festival I saw a couple of tourists burbling past in a very nice dark green Mk3.
        
        Oh, and the top man in the Royal Bank of Scotland drives a Stag.

        I used to go to uni in sheffield, i now live in cambridge and still drive up to sheffield a couple of times a month.
        Unfortunately the last journey was a bit much for the old girl and i broke a wheel bearing, so i'm not sure how many times i'll be bringing the car up to sheffield anymore which is a shame because it always gets me a lot of attention up norf
        
        Anyway, if you see a white T reg 1500 in sheffield, it's probably me, so say hello

        That sounds great, didnt realise there was a meet so close to Sheffield. If i'm around on tuesday i'll pop in, it's a while since i've been to an area meet. Sadly tho I wont be in the Spit - i'll be in the company eurobox, so i'll hide it round the corner so no-one will see it!
        
        Chris - I haven't been to the graveyard yet..... but i'm planning to go tomorrow. Next time you're up here let me know and we can go for a pint! That wasnt your spitty I saw parked up in Hillsborough was it? it was white and T reg i think?????

        What Graham said. Eurobox insurance is madness. No way I'd get insured on my Dads a 18. So all i get to drive is the GT6. Thats my slidey slidey roundabout car.

        It sounds like you might of spotted me in hillsborough, mine is indeed a little white T reg 1500 (WOC 356T) and i tend to drive all over the place when i get to sheffa, have to do the rounds of old uni mates and the like. Not sure though, cant think what i might of been doing in hillsborough in the spitty.

        Slight touch of nostalgia this morning!!! Waiting at the end of my road to turn left and a nice yellow (too dark to make out exact type of yellow!) N reg Stag drove past!! We drove more or less in convoy up the A45 towards Coventry until I went left towards Kenilworth up the A46 and the Stag went round the roundabout presumably towards Coventry? I think the owner lives in the Rugby area? Anyway we exchanged a "wave" and showed a few euroboxes a thing or two!!

        I saw a very nice dark blue (royal?) mk1 (I think!) 2000 this morning going down the A423 away from Southam - I quite regularly also see a TR7, mimosa Stag, and a Spitfire 1500 (with black hardtop) on my travels around Coventry - seeing all these are giving me the encouragement to finish mine....

        On my old route to work up north I would regularly overtake a Spitfire in my GT6 on the Lincoln bypass.
        
        I have yet to see one on the way to work on the M4 since I moved south ... however I did see a Triumph lorry at 7am this morning - Triumph as in the filing cabinet people Hey really must have wondered why a little old sports car was flashing lights and laughing. I've also waved at the other Triumph lorries - their drivers probably think I'm someone going through a mid-life crisis who's gotten a bit excited about seeing some scantily clad lady bumps on the side of a lorry, though!
        
        Last night I saw a mkiv Spit with a spectacularly loud twin sports exhaust in traffic in Wokingham ... I was on foot though.

        So I sat back to watch Famous Cars ,on Men and Motors,and this week it was all about Ferrari.
        When it came to the bit about The GT40,' Ferrari hunters',it had a clip of 1964 Le Mans and what was 'chasing down' three cars and a GT40 ??
        
        Yes number 49 ,one of the famous Spitfires !!
        
        Yes I did record it and watch it in reverse and forwards and reverse .. . . . . . . . . !

        A while ago "The Cobra/Ferrari Wars" was shown on terrestrial telly. That either had film of the same event or the same clips,in particular (from memory) the start/finish straight with the Spitfire following the cobra or Ferrari.
        The Wars film is available on DVD - I recorded it off the TV.
