Travelling to Europe this year?

Posted By : Philip Willcocks, 06-Jan-2006, 10:29am

Received a note from Eurostar reminding me that the E111 has now been replaced by the EHIC card.
UK travellers will need to order this card to ensure they get health care benefits in Europe and Switzerland.

So another thing to do before Le Mans!

Dear traveller,

To ensure you are fully prepared for your travels moving into 2006 please be aware that from 1st January 2006, UK residents travelling in Europe will require a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). This will allow you to benefit from free or reduced-cost medical care when travelling in an EEA country or Switzerland.

The EHIC replaces the E111 and is free of charge. For further information on the introduction of the EHIC and on how to apply for an EHIC, visit www.dh.gov.uk/travellers

All the best for 2006

Eurostar
