OK,
Here my suggestion for a Triumph run from the circuit to Saint Saturnin for the Classic British Welcome on the Friday morning...
At the moment the Triumphs-at-Le-Mans list reads: Ian Johnson, Robin Bush and Colin Wake (possibly) in Beausejour, James Dennison and Mark Naylor in Bleu
Sud, Jerry Jones in Expo and myself in Houx.
Time:
I'm suggesting a 10:00 start. Might seem early but then I don't think I've ever managed to stay in my tent past about 8:30AM - as soon as the sun hits the
tent it turns into an oven and you just spend the day sat under the gazebo drinking beer!
Route:
I was looking at driving past Beausejour, then right past Bleu Sud up to Expo picking up cars on the way.
From there cut across to the N138 and head South for a quick trip around the circuit.
At the end of the lap head off left into and South through Arnage, Spay, St Georges-du-Bois, Fay and La Quinte to Domfront-en-Champagne. That should be a
nice little run through the twisty French back roads and gives us a nice bomb back down the D304 (great straight) into St. Saturnin 30 miles all in.
How does that sound to anyone/everyone?

Just about made it back - can't help thinking arriving at the ferry terminal at 16:57 for a 17:00 sailing and getting on the boat is good going!
Hope everyone enjoyed the little run to the CBW and made it back safe and sound (how was the clutch on the way back, Ian?).
Oh well, only 12 months till the next race/chance to wash your feet by flushing the toilet in a random French cafe/bar...

Mark,
Again I apologise for not being able to get myself together for the TSCC run to St Saturnin, but I got there. BTW, my late arrival was not due to the
two lovelies in the photo!
Parking was rather 'irregular' which is typical for the French (I understand)!
On leaving, I waited for other the other side of the railwaybridge, after a while I was motioned by a delightful young lady to move the Sixfire. It
transpired that she wanted her daughter of 3 months to be photograghed on my lap!!!!!
Anyone up for Silverstone Classic 27-29 July?
Regards
Jerry

No worries Jerry - waking up at Le Mans was harder this year than most (no sun on tent from 8AM == no 8AM tent/sauna).
I saw your car and wondered if it was a club car - very nice reflex purple paint job.

It was a great run Mark - really enjoyed it - the only top down dry(ish) motoring of the trip.
Despite the weather it was another great year at LM.
The first, but not the last in my Triumph ......... and no breakdowns.
The French really love our cars.
Sunday evening pi$$ing down with rain on a motorway 20 miles from LM and there were still groups of locals waving us home from the bridges-
fantastic.

Driving home Sunday, what a silly idea.
Came back Monday, top down the whole way and sunburnt arms to prove it.

Leaving Sunday was a great idea for us - we drove a couple of hours up the road and booked into a hotel.
Nice food, cold wine and a hot bath!
Our camp at LM was minimal, we'd have spent a miserable evening cramped in a wet tent.
...............roll on CLM next year!

It's not time for "roll on CLM" yet - got the 76th 24hr race to get through, THEN the CLM ^_^

Married with child so I'll only(?) get to go away to one or the other next year.
The opportunity for a parade lap swings it for me.
Quite tempted with Nurburgring 24 in '09 .........................
