Stafford 2007

Well, made it there and back and I have to say I enjoyed the show, quite a long trip in a day (375miles) but sort of worth it.

I take my hat off to Claire and the TSSC for organising this event, however I think we all have to resign ourselves to the fact that this will be a smaller and smaller event each year, there were certainly fewer cars displayed on the day (Triumphs) and I am one of the culprits as my car is still being rebuilt.

I was dissapointed with the amount of traders at the show, good to see Chic Doig there with some excellent show bargains and a surprise to see how little Rimmers had to offer, I can't help but feel that this is a reflection on their expectations of the show, there was even someone there selling secondhand clothes, which is fine but not at the expense of encouraging more traders there.

I imagine that the people who camped over had a fantastic time and we can only wait for their comments.

I came back home knowing that I had had a very pleasant day, but also with a regret that this may well be my last visit unless more effort is made to include/encourage the Triumph traders to attend - the hall should be full.

How can this be done, well having read that the club has good reserves I would recommend that we allow traders to attend free of charge, make sure that lists are published in the courier of who is going to attend the event so that many people like myself can make more of a day of it, yes we do attend to see the cars, but the majority of people attend to buy bits and pieces and more often than not new bits and pieces, we must value these traders because without them we will be in trouble.
