We will be there, seem to be bringing more of the family each year!!!!
Quite a few of our Norfolk lot are going too!!!
Don't forget to get your GT6s booked into the main hall for Saturday!! They don't have to be concours (can even be pushed in!!)
You can do this by emailing or phoning me.

I'm going to Stafford, I arranged 2 years ago with a friend with a Westfield that we'd go to Le Mans together and he said he'd get it back on the road... it's still in bits so Stafford it is

I'm going for the first time! Even booked the GT6 into the hall! I'm hoping to have had it resprayed in time so its looking its best, but because its my only car and I drive it everywhere, I'm finding it hard to find a week when I don't need it!!
Still if I don't, it'll just make the shiny ones look even better! Reflected glory?!
Not that there'll be much reflection off my car if it's in its current state!!!

Might be just me and my boy this year as Julia may have to work.....
Oh and I believe Lizzie and the Essex mob intend to go as well after their absence last year, and Colin Geer intends to bring his Cossie Turbo Engined GT6 if he gets the new rear end fitted in time as he's swopping the Toyota diff set up for a Cossie LSD.

Hi Colin: Sorry to say we can't make it back this year. Will miss seeing you the family and the rest I met last year. Carol and I hope to get back to England next year but don't know if Stafford is in the cards. If anyone who reads this has not been then get up and GO!!!! I think Jason will have the pink flmingos for the camp site so it will stand out. Take lots of pictures and post or send them. Bill P.S. This year you will have to bring your own soap!-

Hi Jony,
Think Phillip got the wrong end of the stick.
Although it is the GT6 display on the Saturday, the Sunday is for the concours cars and other categories i.e. Used & cruised....................as always at most shows there is no indoor paking unless the car is being shown, same as Le Mans.
You can camp next to your car at Stafford, even put it in your tent if you wish. LOL
Both shows are fantastic!!
Plenty of freindly faces and plenty to drink!!!

New member of TSSC and recent purchaser of Spit 4 MkII garaged near Stafford Show Ground. When is this event so that I can put it in my diary and get along. Hopefully car will be in the road by then. It may not be currently the best condition, but it will be one of the brightest!!!

The bit about indoor camping at LeMans isn't 100% true.
There is one campsite that has cowsheds in it that you can get a car and a tent into, 1 per stall.
The Morgan club always get there first!
They are ludicrously hot when the sun shines on the tin roofs........

But the mens ones are of the 'squat and drop' type.
Strangely very empty all of the time...........
Also very strangely you couldn't get a cubicle in the ladies for love nor money, and not even for a spare bog roll...

In answer to your question.....................of course it can go in the main hall!!!
After all it is still a GT6.
If you want to be booked in email me your details i.e. reg no: colour mark etc plus a phone number.
You can do this through private messaging.

well if its the one that im hoping for its lovely, bright yellow Petrol injection, silicone
injected brakes, all sorts of mods and in very good condition. previous owner to he current owner was a
triumph enginer! and i believe he did most of the work.
anyway we shall see!

Nigel and myself had a GT6 convertible as a first Triumph (well it wasn't convertible when we bought it but thats another story).
Great fun - lots of strange looks (ie is it a spitfire or a GT6?)- still trying to find out if it is still around though -

o and john i have to say your car was the 1st triumph that made my jaw drop and really got me into triumphs. it was on the front of id guess triumph world but cant remeber for sure. what a beast! who says an estate cant be a race car

The Modified criteria are quality and originality of mods, nothing else.
No need to spend all that time and money on polish, just nights in the garage.
I'm sure the car should be clean and tidy, but you could drive it to Stafford (indeed, you MUST drive it to Stafford), straight into the hanger and go for a beer! The details of the Modified and other contests will, no doubt, appear in the Courier shortly.
Go for it, man!
The contest is open - I won't be there!
The sadly mistaken decision to hold the Stafford the same weekend as the Le Mans Classic will have me seeking conquests new.

i have no freaking idea about the brakes!! lol thats just what he said and iv been told that they do actualy exist! i may well do that then. if mone and time permits im hoping to get a custom grill and chrome overiders for it but we shall see may have to wait fr money to build up again!

Guys and Gals
Although I've been to every Ineternational Weekend (and before that National Weekend) since 1982, I'm going to Le Mans this year. Yes, there are 400 people booked for Le Mans, but at least half of them are partners of members and many more are not even members, or I W attenders. I'm sure the odd person will be missed at the I W, but generally who's going to know that anyone went to Le Mans, you won't notice it at the I W, that's for sure, and next year we'll all be back! If the dates hadn't clashed I, for one, would have been there this year - it's too good an event to miss.
Go for it, fill the hall with GT6s.

Hi Susan,
It would have been a fabulous idea to have Stafford and Le Mans on a different weekend, however the weekend date for Stafford has been a fixture for several years and the management of the Stafford County Showground were unable to shift the date, even with 18 months notice.
Le Mans Classic (LMC) weekend is every two years and the date of it has to co-incide with being on almost the longest day (because of the night racing) and not clashing with the F1 calendar. LMC is not organised by the club, it is an event that we are invited to attend and as such we have no control over what date they choose.
Indeed the weekend in question is one of the busiest with Goodwood and Football World Cup also competing for the mid-summer slot.
Believe me, the club tried to accomodate both events.-

It is really easy to enter. Sometime in the leaqd up to Stafford there will be an entry form in the courier.
Just fill it in and send to Angie Mc Gowan (address will be on the entry form).
Doesn't cost a penny to enter.
Your car sounds really nice. I always fancied a GT6 convertible.
Don't forget we want your car in the main hall on Saturday as well!!!!

and i dunno bout a matainence check as youd probably find things that needed doing that are so obvious and needed and i wouldnt have a clue! lol oil filter? wheres that then ? (im not joking either lol ill learn in time.....)

Hey Julie, My car is a 1500 spit that has GT6 turrets, brakes, disks, engine, box, rad, or its quicker to say it still has a 1500 tub , dash, boot lid, electrics, petrol tank, doors and a few other bits. Does it qualify to go in the hall as a GT6 convertible (even though its really a Spit 6) or will the "real enthusiasts" spot me a mile away?

To answer your question:
If your Spitfire is registered as a GT6 then yes it can be displayed in the GT6 display.
If it isnt save it for the Sunday and enter it in the modified Triumph class................that way it will get into the hall whatever!!!

we are hoping that at least 20-25 of us from the Notts area are going to Stafford this year - many for the first time.

Sorry folks but I have to get this off my chest..! Thanks to the best efforts of messrs. Blair and Brown I probably won't be going to Stafford-need a miracle! This is because they have ruined the economy and the labour market, and raised the dole by the huge sum of fifty pee a week-"this is what the law says you need to live on". Thank god for family or I would be kipping under a railway arch.
Well done "New Labour" (maggie without the handbag!).

I am deffo coming to my first Stafford weekend, just the decisions! Caravan\tent, Dog\no dog.
Has to be a modern car as i dont think my Spittie will make it! see pic....
Just me on me todd i think, so i need to meet LOTS of people, i'll be dressing up too (for the Sat eve!)..
Prob in Black X-Trail Come say 'howdy', 'alreet', 'hi y'all' or 'put a brew on!' etc
I'll bring Pics of my restoration and display them on the windows of the car etc....
