Hello all,
A quick question after enjoying the beautiful weather today!
As it is going to be gorgeous again tomorrow, I have decided to park the car outside the house tonight, so it's ready for the off tomorrow nice and early.
Thing is, I normally park it up at work, (which is the address the insurers have) nice and secure, but as that's more than 5 miles away....
Basically, what would be the insurance situation be if some ned nicks it tonight? Would it be covered? I know that you can't always park at the address
given to the insurers, but is it different if it's actually outside your house? I don't want them to think that that's where I always park it.
And of course the insurers office is closed so I can't ask them direct.
Any thoughts?
Cheers, Iain

I would imagine that you will be fine....
Think of it this way - you drive your lovely triumph to a friends house and stay the night. That's perfectly acceptable behaviour - the car is still
insured - why should your example be any different?

I think the issue in the event of needing to make a claim is that the situation is genuinely a one off.
It is not uncommon for people to claim that their car is garaged at night so that they can reduce their premiums - and it makes a major
differerence !
In the event of needing to make a claim, the claims assesor will want to look at all the circumstances, and will immediately jump to the conclusion
that the car is always parked outside the house, and not at the location stated in the policy. One would have to convince him otherwise.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys. Fingers crossed I suppose! Maybe the chavs will go for one of two VW Campers, the Amazon or the SAAB
95 that also reside close by...

Just to briefly finnish off....
Did end up enjoying the glorious weather again....minus the nearside door mirror that some chav kicked off...
It would be less annoying if it was nicked, it's the mindless vandalism for no reason that's irritates.
Still, at least the rest of the car was there the next day! Won't be leaving it in N7 again though....
