Insurance Revisited

Insurance - you've got to love it... you pay a small sum to protect your big investment... so the theory goes.

RANT AHEAD... be warned... this may save others trouble in the future... and yes, I know this is all my own fault for not reading things and finding out! And I've learnt my lesson presuming things...

Back in September when I had to renew my insurance I decided to go to with Lancaster - because they were about 200 pounds cheaper than Footman James - and their policy is identical - agreed value etc

Now I've been looking for a 2000/2500/Dolly to compliment my Mk3 Spitfire for the winter... and I found what sounded like a nice one.

So before going and looking I thought I better phone up Lancaster and see what they were going to charge me to add the vehicle to my current policy.

Turns out they can't add one on my policy... ok... so they transfer me over the quotation department... Supposedly I am too young to have a multi-vehicle policy. If I want to cancel my policy I only get 35% back - even though I've only been with them 3 months.

Ok... so I ask how much it would be for another policy... 490 quid... thats on top of what Im paying for my Mk3 now... which is about that amount already.

I phoned up Footman James in the hope they could do me a TPFT on the Dolomite - but I was informed that I am now too old to have a TPFT policy... and they could only do it fully comp for &163;800...

When I had phoned up FJ a year ago to ask how much it would be to add a Dolly on to my Spit with TPFT they quoted about 100 quid extra...

Anyway... I'll go off in a huff now...

James (rather pissed of with himself... and wishing to be old and grey... well older anyway...)
