AFAIK, for the TSSC scheme Insurance, FJ will only accept the TSSC valuation.
Unless you think your car is really worth a lot of money, you can do it all by post.
For higher valuations, more photos are better than just four.
For my Spitfire, I sent in about 30 photos - all printed on the colour laser printer in the office.
For the first valuation, this was sufficient - &163;4500
For the second valuation, both Bernie and Trudi had recently had an (informal) look over the car at a show, so were able to do the valuation by post, with a pack of about 50 photos - &163;6300 - but if they had not actually seen the car, then they would have wanted to see it at a show to value it for so much - and when FJ got the increased valuation, they upped my premium by &163;10
I suspect that you will be able to get a valuation at STAB on Sunday, and failing that at the SEM in May.

Kevin is right. In order to be on the TSSC Scheme with Footman James you need to have a TSSC Valuation. This is because your 'Agreed Value' is between yourself, the Club and FJ, not just you and FJ. This ensures that you will always have the support of the Club in the event of any claim.
Kevin is also right in that now that the event season is about to start a more accurate valuation can be done if the car is inspected. This can be done at an event, or during the week at Sunderland Court. This Sunday, for example, we will be able to value your car at STAB, in May we will be at SEM, where a queue for valuations developes on both days, so get there early if you can.
Remember that if your car does not have a current Valuation Certificate it will be valued at market value only.

Ok thanks, I guess I'll have to get it done asap by post as I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to either of those meets.
Mike you mention "market value" and I'm just wondering how one finds out what that is for a classic? Last time I looked in a 'Parkers' guide it didn't go back to 1967

For "Market Value" read NOT A LOT - for a &163;5K agreed value, you would be lucky to get more than &194;&163;1K "market value".
Make an effort and get along to STAB or the SEM

I think you need to buy a Glass' Guide for Market Value, but as Kevin has said, the value is usually very low, sometimes only a couple of hundred pounds.
