In a modern car the "book" value makes several assumptions that
the car is basically all working as intended - of course once you've rolling it over or had it squished flat who would ever know if it ran
like a three legged dog? Classic cars are different - mileage is not so important, condition is and receipts and history more so. A recon
engine should add value - if I were you I'd ask the guys who do the valuations at HQ exactly how they determine this, I've often wondered
if there's any science to it
