I'm pretty sure 1200's only ever had the standard grey "big loop pile" (for want of a better term!) carpet that no-one supplies. So, unless you
are a stickler for originality, and you start the search for some unused or vgc original carpet (and good luck in your search), then you might
as well fit any colour that you think matches the rest of the interior and the exterior. You're the one who's going to be looking at it
most!
13/60's had a choice of carpet colours: according to Mike Costigan's originality guide, choice was Black, Matador red, light tan or Shadow blue
to match the interior.
In terms of originality, your 1200 should have charcoal grey. As 13/60's never had midnight blue interiors, you cannot strictly copy from that,
other than to match the carpet colour to the rest of the trim.
That said, I'd be more interested in the quality of the carpet and how well it fits than its precise colour. NO-ONE has yet produced cut and
stitched carpet sets that fit properly, at least over the gearbox tunnel (where it is most visible). So I would recommend you ONLY consider
MOULDED carpet sets. Most of those around are black (which would be the correct colur for a 1200 after December 1967!) and suit most trim
colours, but a few coloured sets are around. (Chic Doig had some IIRC).
