Hi Andrew,
The ideal starting point would be to use the bodshell from a Mk2 Herald Coupe, ie a post June 1962 1200. Unfortunately, late Coupes are fairly scarce
so any benefit of having the right body mountings would be offset by the difficulty in finding one which didn't need extensive bodywork. The body
mounts differ in that the Mk1 cars have no supports above the diff, but there are supports at the front of the boot floor. The latter were also used on
very early Mk2 cars, these are a great benefit in preventing the body sag of later Heralds. It is possible to add packing to the chassis mounting
points above the diff, but adding the original Mk2 strengtherners to the shell here would be quite involved.
Given access to a decent later Herald Saloon bodyshell, I would be inclined to graft in the Coupe deck panel. There is no dimensional difference in the
wing tops between Saloon and Coupe, the only modification being the fixing points for the roof. The deck itself is unique, as are the reinforcement
panels, these would have to be sourced from a Coupe.
Good luck if you go ahead. One piece of advice when removing the roof - make copious notes of how it goes together and don't lose any of the parts.
There are unique washers and wooden wedges which you will not be able to obtain easily, if at all.....
Cheers,
Bill.

The Purple looks like it may be Targo Purple, but the painting is all wrong for a factory job. The car's had a few later bits added (front
valance is the obvious one) so the paint is unlikely to be original. The white looks just about right to be Sebring,
Cheers,
Bill.
