Hi there.
my 13/60 - I'm getting it ready for a long trip thru France next month - I did the first leg from the Isle of Man to London last weekend
- and would like to get this niggly problem sorted out..
After running for say 30 minutes or more, it gets really hard to start, although it always starts first time when cold.
It seems as if it fires straight away then dies immediately - the starter motor disengages straight away too.
When running it has no problems.
Is this the famous vaporisation problem? Or is that a myth?
Or any other clever ideas?
Thanks
Dave

Do you have waxstat jet(s)?
This used to happen to my spit before i converted them.
If it is the vaporisation problem, what sort of heat shield do you have?

wouldn't know a waxstat stat jet if it bit me. How can I tell? I have a single stromberg of standard issue as far as I know.
And no heatshielding - I only mentioned the vapouristion thing as I had read about it happening to other cars of our type(s)

Is it posible the fault lies with the starter and not the fuel as it may be disengaing before it's had chance to 'catch'? Have you tried a push
start when it won't start, if it starts easily with a push then I would think vapourisation is not the problem. I can't think of a reason why
the starter would disengae when it's hot but not when it's cold.
