The folding mechanism is anchored to a plate on each side at the B-post. Each plate is anchored by three bolts, be careful to remove the right bolts as
taking out the wrong ones will dismantle the hinge mechanism, makes the job far more complcated. You will of course also need to undo the hood
fastenings around the rear deck.
If the repair is needed around the front rail hinges, there is no need to remove the entire frame. Strip back the hood covering from the rail, and
remove two bolts where the hinges are attached into the hood side rails. Repair here will need all of the header rail to be stripped of seals and trim.
Simply welding the old hinge back in place won't be a long term fix, the failure is caused by metal fatigue. Damage usually extends well into the
header rail, so fatigued metal needs cutting out and replacing with new, otherwise the welds will break failry quickly. Given the amount of work needed
to access the rail, it's really not worth taking a short cut here.
Probably mroe than you wanted to know and quite possibly irrelevant......
Cheers,
Bill.

Bill,
Thanks for the very prompt and comprehensive advice! Now much more confident about the job than before! The failure is where you specified so the
additional advice is very welcome.

If it is any use, I took a photo of mine when I was removing it. (See below)
You can see the three nuts that Bill mentioned. (Well one nut & two holes)
Actually, now I see it, there were four not three. But it is a 13/60 not a 1200.
If you take it off the car, consider having it powder coated. It makes a great difference.
If you look in my profile you can see a before & after pic.

Wayne,
Thanks very much for the pics; they are extremely useful. I do intend to refurbish the frame once it is out and before fitting a new cover.
