Speedo repairs

Posted By : Steve Brooks, 02-Apr-2004, 08:37pm

Hi
just looked at a 1965 12/50 with view to buy , but the speedo was reading 70 when we were doing about 45mph. As I am new to this a and have only just joined TSSOC , can any one tell me if it is the speedo at fault or the cable or....
The guy selling the car said that I could get it fixed but the fixing company would want to know whow many turns the cable did with regards to how many turns of the rear wheels and the circumference of the wheels / tyres etc. Is this all neccesary?
Does any one know of a suitable speedo fixing company?
Thanks
Steve
