Section : Bumpers and Overriders

All,
I bought a 2nd hand GRP front valance for my Vitesse, but the valance has the top edge raised between the overriders. It doesn't look right on the Vitesse,
where the lower edge of the bonnet is a straight line, and adjusting the bonnet to fit is next to impossible. I don't have a steel valance to compare.
It occurs to me that the valance may be different between the Heralds and Vitesse. Is this a GRP valance for a Herald?
Did I buy a pig in a poke?!
Please advise.

Hi John,
There are at least 4 different steel valance pressings for the Herald, and at least 2 for the Vitesse. The GRP valance you describe sounds like the
13/60 type. This is very similar to the Vitesse style but there is a stepped section between the overriders. The other types have a simple flange along
the back here, though they each have differences in other areas,
Cheers,
Bill.

Hi,
The GRP front valence that came with my 13/60 conv is about 2" short on the sides - i.e. it doesn't meet the leading edge of the wheel arch, and looks
decidedly odd.
Is this one of the 4 types Bill mentions or is it just a bad manufacture?
Dave

Hi Dave,
Just a poorly made repro part - any of the (steel) originals would be the same length,
Cheers,
Bill.
