I have a Herald with a Toledo engine (engine prefix DH47004HE) which requires a new fuel pump.
Could anyone tell me which fuel pump I should be looking for and where I could get one.
Are all Triumph pumps compatable ie Herald, Spitfire etc. and if not are all Dolomite pumps interchangeable.
The pump I removed from the car is a sealed unit but the one shown in the Haynes manual can be dismantled.
Can anyone give me the part number I should be looking for.
On the existing pump there is a small hole in the side could anyone tell me what this if for.

keith, I think I have a new one in a box somewhere, although i would be surprised if yo can't get one more locally
take the ode one into a few independant motor factors, the longer established the better and ask "got one of these???"
if then no luck let me know and i'll bung it in the post for say a tenner plus the postage?
the hole is probably to let air in and out of the not-the-petrol-side of the diaphragm

In answer to the original question,I think the same basic pump is fitted to all the small four cylinder pushrod engines (ie Herald,Spitfire,
Toledo,Dolomite 1300/1500) although the Herald ones do look different. The Herald ones ARE dismantleable and can be overhauled (IF you can get the
parts) whereas the later ones are sealed for life.
You need to check the spacing of the fitting bolts, and also the length and angle of the actuating lever to ensure compatability.
I had a Dolomite 1300 engine in my Herald for a while and I'm 99% sure the fuel pump was interchangeable with the Herald one.
