  Hi Karen you could try some thinners, but do a test patch first, it was very useful when cleaning the rear seat in my 1200 as someone have spilt glue or resin on it I think. Otherwise there are tonnes of different upholstery cleaners on the market, again just make sure you do a test patch first some where you can't see! in case it goes horribly wrong.
  
  Interestingly my car used to have Catus Green seats, the heritage certificate say, however it now has black, "I always thought it was red and green should never be seen!"

    I wouldn't rsik using thinners, much too strong in my opinion. I cleaned my tan coloured seats by removing them from the car and using plenty of hot soapy water and a scrubbing brush, but use one with softer nylon bristles to prevent the coverings from getting scratched. I have also found that methelated spirits is quite good on stains that soapy water fails to shift and it won't damage the colour as long as you don't scrub too hard.

      Hi steve i see you point, however if you wash it off with soapy water, I found the result to be fine with ill effects to my rear seat, however it is a risk you have to take on your head, and I was using it to get resin/glue off.

        If you have to remove resin or glue then you've got nothing to loose by trying I suppose. It's good to hear it worked without problem - I'll bear that one in mind. I suppose it could always be tested on the side of the seat base where it won't easily show.

          As with Aaron earlier I used thinners on my red door trims but it needs to be used gently, and then immediately wiped off using a proprietary cleaner. Thinners really shift the dirt but I tested it on an old door card and they soften the vinyl if left too long, and will cause damage. Nothing else I had in the garage worked so well to clean grimy vinyl though.

            Cellulose thinners is very good at removing the grain from vinyl....

    Red & Green was a common body/trim colour combo throughout the Triumph range, surely they wouldn't have got it wrong?

      Here's an illustration of what the two looked like; black seats would probably have been too sombre for this paint colour. It's different but would be a nightmare to keep clean in my house! (I also have an estate interior in this colour!)

  Hi Karen,
  Kitchen scouring cream is good for ingrained dirt, less abrasive kitchen cleaners should take out most dirt though. Baby wipes are also an invaluable part of the toolkit for this kind of work,

    mmm I like it, especailly the white walls and driving lamps, not sure I will rush to find green seats though.
    It makes me sad to see the lovely shiney car in the sun shine I really must polish my car and drive it soon, how long do the UJ's on the drive shaft take to change and are they difficult?? how many spanners if you know what I mean?? I would say I am fairly handy and will give most things a try

      The UJs are not difficult to change but can be a bit fiddly. I've seen a few postings on this subject and if I remeber right it was detailed in one of the Couriers (anyone know which one?). All you really need are a few basic tools including a socket set and a vice to help drive out the cups (you'll see what I mean if you read the article). Two bits of advice spring to mind - 1) mark the relative position of the shaft and yolk (is that the correct word?) to the diff and 2) be careful to make sure none of the new rollers slip out of position, I recommend covering them in grease to help hold them in place. I reckon you complete a propshaft in 2 hours even if you've never done them before, and the second one will be even quicker.
