Hi All,
I am in the process of sprucing up the interior of my 1970 13/60 Convertible and I have removed the seats, carpet and gearbox cover in order to treat and
paint the floorpan. On removing the seats I found 3 washers between the lower seat runner and the floorpan nut for each of the bolts holding the seat in
place. The washers are 3/4 inch in diameter and 1/8th in thickness.
Before I replace them with new ones (as quite rusty) can anyone tell me if they are actually needed? I initally thought that it was to provide a gap
between the seat runner and the floorpan for the carpet but can anyone advise me before I refit the seats.
Thanks for any thoughts you may have on this.

Hi Gary,
You're absolutely right about the washers, they are there to give clearance for the carpet. Depending on what type of carpet and sound-deadening is
re-fitted, you may need to adjust the number of washers,
Cheers,
Bill.

Thanks Bill,
Thought it was a bit of a bodge but it makes sense to have several washers to give the adjustment required for differing thicknesses of
carpet/soundproofing. Suppose I had better put them back then!
