Hiya All again
Thanks all, for the info on the exhaust system,
much appeciated .
Next question (LOL) anybody know if you can get a template set or pattern for recovering the seats in a herald Convertible.
The mrs has just bought 30mts of red leatherette to redo all the seats/ door panels etc, she says she can do it with out , but wondered if there was such a
thing .
Anybody out there know of such a thing
cheers Iain

Hi Iain,
As far as I am aware there is nothing of this nature available. The best possible pattern is already fitted to your car - if your wife is happy to make
new seat covers then I am sure she will be able to interpret the construction by disecting the existing covers.
Let us know how she gets on - it's always good to hear about the more abstract aspects of restoration, the kind of work which is invariably farmed out
to professionals,
Cheers,
Bill.

Cheers Bill for the words of encouragment .
The wife is going to have a go, at the end of the day the seats are pretty knacked anyway and what ever she does can only be an improvement
Will let you know how she gets on Bill , it is going to be her winter project , while i try and do my first spray job, now this i am worried about
(LOL)
once again bill cheers and all the best
Iain and her indoors

Hi Iain,
One afterthought, you might want to treat your wife to a present - there is a book on restoring car upholstery in the Osprey Restoration Guides
series. I don't have the ISBN or author's name to hand, but I can find out tomorrow, my own copy isn't accessible at the moment. This book
covers all of the common techniques used in upholstering our cars, very worthwhile reading,
Cheers,
Bill.

Hi Iain,
The book is called "How to Restore Upholstery" by Tony Fairweather, Osprey Restoration Guide 7. ISBN 0-85045-623-I.
I can recommend this entire series of books, though I must get around to filling the gaps in my own set,
Cheers,
Bill.

Wife has started work on the recovering the seats, she wont let me post any piccies as she hasnt finished the whole lot yet , but not far from
finishing .
But decided to let all have a look at my first attempt at spraying, though it isnt a professional job, the car does look 100% better then when i got
her 2 years ago , who knows might even get her valued next year by the club .
Anyway bill and all ,cheers for all your help over the past months and once seats are finished im sure she will let me post one .
