Hi Jon,
I just had both doors, a boot lid, rear valance and 2 x rear quarter valances resprayed. This involved preparing, priming, topcoating with Cellulose
paint. Cost me about £300. Can apparently get a whole respray for about £300 but it would proably be a quick flatten down and
top coat only so wouldnt look good for long. Any other opinions ?
I can give you a chaps name and number in West Byfleet, Surrey that only charges about £10 per hr plus materials that I used if interested
?
Rear seatbelts have been covered here before a few times, also checkout the Triumph newsgroups on yahoo.

I too have carried young children in the back oa a Vitesse convertible. It is alright at the moment as the baby seats are held in with a
simple lap belt through the rear floor pan. This will be Ok until the kids are about 3yrs old when they become too big for the shoulder
straps within the child seat. I have pondered what to do after this as I do not like the idea of simple lap belts, The existing seat back
isunsuitable for shoulder belts and mounting the belt on floor the behind the backrest and passing over the top is a definate no no
(somewhere there are regs about where the upper mountings can go I can't remember, somebody will no doubt help). My car is fited with a
roll bar (essential with kids in the back) and one idea I have thought about and would welcome comments on is to weld in an addition rear
hoop onto the rollbar so that it follows around the top perimeter of the rear seat with a vertical post at each corner bolting down to the
inside of the rear wheel arch. Looking at the roof both up and down with the rear side trims removed it looks like there may be just enough
space to get this in. The top mounts of the rear belts can then be fitted to the rear hoop above the vertical supports. This is only my
initial thoughts and I have not yet tried it (I have another 12 months to go...

Julian,
The Racing Regs from the MSA (used to be RAC) contain safety advice, icluding seat belt fixings. I can email the diagrams to you if you
wish, or can we post pictures here?
Basically, the shoulder belts should be less than 10 degrees and never more than 45 degrees below the horizontal. Your idea of a
secondary rollover loop sounds good to me, but it should be braced/triangulated, and your welding skills should prevent heat weakening
of the existing structiure.
