Anybody run one of these as I could do with some advice.
I am nearly at the end of rebuilding my Herald 1200 and have fitted a replacement engine which came with a weber downdraught twin choke carb. The car
starts on choke and runs smoothly but when I take the choke off it gets to about 3/4 of the way off and the engine dies unless I give the throttle a bit of
welly. I have run the engine up and let it warm but I cannot get it to idle. It sounds to me like the mixture is to lean which makes me think it is the
slow running jet at fault.
I bought the Weber Haynes manual which doesn't tell me a lot so if there is anybody out there who knows this stuff I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Andrew

take out/unscrew the idle jet halfway up the side of the body, there will be one for each barrel,, both different calibre make sure the 2nd barrel
throttle is on its stop and just open the smallest amount next to nothing just to let any trapped fuel out only adjust the 1st barrel
idle stop and idle mixture screw some idle jets come apart to clean inside the jet holder,
some are fixed and need a good blow through....peter
