Heat shield will it fit

Hi guys
I am looking to fit a heat shield to my twin SU's 1 1/4 on my triumph herald it has a 1200/12/50 engine in the car, the question are the inlet manifold spacing are the same on the 12/50 and 1300 manifolds, as the heat shield is off a 1300 mk 4 spitfire

I think the spacing between the two carbs will be slightly different on the 6 port (1147cc) heads compared to the 8 port (1296 and 1493cc) heads. SO if the heatshield is in ONE piece spanning between both carbs, it may not fit. However, if there is one heat shield per carb, the bolt spacing for mounting the carbs to the manifolds will be the same ASSUMING you are dealing with the same size carbs (presumably 1.25")

  hi chris they are the same type of carbs 1 1/4 SU's on both cars but the heatsheild is in one piece, i guess the only answer is to have a try??
