I've recently bought a 13/60 and I'm sure the carb is playing up. As I'm not very mechanically minded any advice on the easiest way of how to investigate
what could possibly be my problem. When I come to a stop at junctions, traffic lights, etc the car wants to stall. I've changed oil, plugs, leads, points,
filters, etc, but still plays up but since I've done this not too bad now. So any advice would be great.
Also the state of the carpet is awfull. Anywhere I could pick up a new complete carpet for it cheap?
Cheers Paul

Paul
I am no expert on carbs but have a look at the diaphragm in the top of your carb to see if there is any rips in it.
Cannot help you with carpets.

Have you checked for any leaks... I recently found one on the insulator between manifold and carb, it had eluded me for ages!

Paul, I know nothing about carbs, not even sure I could locate mine but I do know that Rimmer Bros are having a sale now and a set of carpets are only
£85.00 at the moment. A flyer came out with this month's Courier. I'm getting a set for my 13/60 Convertible. No doubt, I'll be back on
here shortly enquiring as to how to fit them!
Best wishes

Hello Paul,
Just to let you know that I've taken delivery of the Rimmer Bros Herald carpet set in red and it looks really smart. It cost 72.00 for the carpet
and 37.00 for the underfelt plus VAT.
The carpet is edged and is good quality.
Hope you get the carbs sorted soon.

Cheers James for info, but I'm at my wits end with this carb problem if it's that at all?

I've now located the problem on my carb the next thing is that I'm looking for an agent who could fix me up with what I'm after. I have a Herald 13/60
1971 it's a Stromberg carb and the part I'm after is a rubber diaphram. The existing one has a split in the top and I'm pretty sure that's what has
been my problem. Also I need a new choke cable. Any phone numbers or contacts would be very welcome.
Happy New Year to all
Bye for now

Part number is 517448, easily available for a couple of quid from any of the regular traders (at least that's what I charge for them!).
Cheers,
Bill Davies.
