Anything and everything Herald. Talk about anything from the first 948s to the last 13/60s.
Section : Electrical Equipment
Alternators, dynamos, lights, wipers, etc.

Hi all, I am now the proud owner of a 13/60 Herald,in Laurel green, and it's only taken me 15 years to be able to get one! (housebuying, marriage, kids
etc!!!). Whilst i have no probs with the engine as regards servicing and the basics, and this is the daft question bit,I acquired numerous spares with the
car, including a pair of chrome spotlights, which would just make TOD look like the gorgeous Herald on page 73 of The Courier no.300. How the bugga do you
fit them??I'd like to get them on before go to the next Derwent Valley club meeting.Told you it were a daft question, but i'm only learning!
Many thanks in advance,
Mark

The easiest way is to get hold of a badge bar at an auto jumble.
You can fit this to the front valance and fit the lights to that.
Make sure that there is enough gap between them so that air
can get to the radiator though.

These are Lumax spots, genuine 1960s costing £10 a pair from eBay - they're fitted straight through the front valence which was
already drilled. Get spots with a flat back which gives more room for manoeuvre than rounded back ones. There's enough room between the valence
curve and the front cross rail to fit spots by drilling and then bolting them from underneath. You can also buy clip-on spot brackets at any
boy-racer store which clamp onto the valence and the spots mount to those.
