Not sure if there were any factory fitted wing mirrors, but all those I can recall seeing are contemporary accessories. Nowadays it will be a matter of
using whatever you can find if you want wing mirrors. I preferred the Desmo type, but I don't know whether they are still available, suggest you have a
look at various classic car mags to see what suppliers stock.
You don't have to have wing mirrors, nor door mirrors, but in modern traffic they are worth considering. If you fit a door mirror, be very careful how
you fit one as most will eventually split the doorskin.
As to mounting point for wing mirrors, I can only suggest you have a look at a car with such, and measure how far back from the front edge of the
bonnet they are fitted. On a 1200, they should be on the centreline of the "wing" (the raised curved part of the bonnet) and something like 6 - 8" back
(wild guess with no car anywhere near me!!!). With a fibreglass bonnet, you should put some reinforcement under the securing nut of any wing mirror (a
big washer) to spread the load and prevent cracking.
1200's had different indicators over time, so it is hard to state what is correct for your car. If they match each other, and don't look odd, I'd leave
them. Only a real anorak would quibble with what's on your car.
The rear lenses also changed in the early 60's, but in that case there were different lampholders when fitted with an unribbed cover, and with some
form of lense? I have however fitted later covers to an early car with no apparent problem. The later ribbed covers are more widley available and less
prone to fading, so again, if they look right and are in good condition, you've better things to spend your time and money on I'm sure!
As for which bonnet to use, it should simply be a matter of condition, and possibly panel fit. If the steel bonnet is not rusted, then rustproof it and
use that. IF the steel one is rusty, depending on how far gone it is, you can try repair sections (eg "D" plates) but any serious rot is a big job and
it may well be much easier to fit the fibreglass one. (Just remember you'll need to provide earthing wires for the lamps!)

I think the positioning of wing mirrors is up to the individual as I've seen all sorts over the years. My 13/60 has the mirrors positioned 17.5
inches back from the front edge of the bonnet - see photograph
