Can anyone assist me? I have just bought a chrome quarter light mirror at Stoneleigh and was assured that it is the correct fitting. I intend to fit this
on my 13/60. However I am unclear as to exactly where to fit it. The mirror bracket is 'u' shaped with two screws to clamp it on and a rubber layer on the
outside of the 'u'. There was no fitting guide and the only illustration that I can find is on quiller's site which, although a different style, indicates
that the mirror fits on the edge of the quarter light channel where the side window glass runs - is this correct?

Hi Mel,
My 1200 Coupe had something similar fitted when I first owned it. This one was clamped to the glass in the quarterlight, so it swivelled with the
quarterlight. It fell off when cornering at speed when I'd only owned the car a couple of weeks. It may have been mounted wrongly, but I didn't really
like it so I never bothered fitting another.
Cheers,
Bill.

I gave up too. Even drilling small pilot holes to help solidity failed. Most of the time you need mirrors whilst overtaking and as far as I can see
all mirrors on a Her/Vit (esp. soft tops) over 45mph are a bit useless!! Get used to looking over your shoulder and try to make out that blurry
view from your indoor drivers mirror.
Jonathan.

People seem to be able to get these to stay on on Minis (proper ones, not BMW!) so you might have a look at one when you pass in the
street.
Proper door mirrors do a decent job,but will ultimatelycrack the doorskin. I advocate wing mirrors. Not only are they proper 1960's correct
accessories, but they DO help with overtaking manouevres and you don't have to look far away from the road ahead to use them.

I've had one each of the Club stainless mirrors fitted to both my last GT6; both fell off leaving an identical inch long scratch on the
drivers doorskin and are now lying on the shelf in the garage. I bought a genuine 1970s accessory mirror in a junk shop and it has a far
better clip for screwing to the window glass, so obviously the clip on the stainless models is totally inadequate. Possibly a drop of
'Gripfill' would keep it on... but I'd agree you definitely need some sort of rear view / blindspot mirror.

The are a bit weird - I had one on my 13/60 and have two on the Sixfire. The U shaped piece of metal goes in the window channel, there's usually a
furry bit on it that sits facing the door glass. There's then a blank pice of metal that goes in the U on the outside of the window channel , this
clamps the channel when you tighten the two grub screws. Make sure it's all tight, in fact put some grippy tape on the inside of the clamp to improve
the grip. These are great mirrors if you can get them to stay on, be prepared to lose one or two

I was fortunate in
that when mine fell off I caught it - yes I was driving and yes I was bloody lucky!
