Hello all
I have read the variety of articles on the replacement of U/J's on the prop shaft and some very helpfull advice too.
However I was just after a practicle point, can the prop shaft be taken off from under the car ie if I have access to a lift?

ie is it accessable???
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but the articles I have seen seem to show removing the seat and gearbox housing ect...
cheers

The propshaft can be remved from under the car, it's removing the diff that's abit more difficult. Incidentally, I have a Herald propsahft you can have
F.O.C. if you want it, I don't know if the joints are any good but if not you could use it to practice on. I'm based in Shropshire if you want it.

ou have to remove the gearbox cover to get at the front propshaft bolts. Then you have to get the back of the car in the air to remove the rear bolts
and extract the propshaft downwards and rearwards. No need to dismantle the diff mounting at all, but if it is a fixed length shaft, you might need to
lever the engine/gearbox forward a little to release the propshaft.
Mark the falnges at each end (on both the shaft and gearbox/diff sides of the joint) so you can refit the propshaft in the same position as it was
removed.

Chris, thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't trying to suggest removal of the diff, just picking up on the point about removing seats etc.
