Can anyone please tell me if a Dolomite 1300 engine and gearbox is a straight swap for a Herald 1360. I have a smokey engine and a noisey box so a straight
swap would be ideal. Can they be swapped without spilitting units or is clearance a problem? I am assuming propshaft length may be a problem. Any help much
valued. Thanks.

You will need to swap the rear gearbox mountings and the oil sump because they are both different. Also you might have clearance issues with the air
filter housing depending on what carb you have. You'll also need to swap over the actual gear lever as the dolly/toledo one is a little bit too
long.
Oh, I've just had a thought... Is the dolomite gearbox a three rail (it will look identical to your herald's) or single rail? I've no experience of the
latter type and would expect there to be further issues about fitting it.
Good luck!
