Hi there Gt6 lovers,
After thinking out the engine work (with the great advice from a lot of you out there), I've decided on fitting a Stage 2-3 cylinder head and SU carbs
(kindly given to me by Paul Carter), a 6-3-1 Phoenix exhaust system, a fast-road cam shaft and Mintex brake pads. The work is going to be done (hopefully)
by Mark at Jigsaw Racing, as you all recommended him very highly and he seems like the right guy for the job. I'm sure he won't let me down!
I took the car out this weekend (yes, in the pouring rain which surrounded most of South England) just to see if there are any
bad weather issues that I should prepare myself for once I start driving it more regularly. Thankfully, there were no leaks whatsoever from the Westbasto
sunroof (this was my biggest worry) but....
Whatever I did with the heating, the front and rear screens kept fogging up. I resorted to wiping it off the front windscreen with a rag, but it seemed to
me that there was even more fog on the outside of the screen. In addition, the rear screen de-mister was completely hopeless so I presume one of the
contacts has gone.
Anyone have any solutions? Perhaps some special potion with which I should clean both the outside and inside of the screens?
Looking forward to hearing views!

A foggy sight...

1) Are you getting air blowing up the screen when you slide to 'Defrost' (or whatever it says)?
2) When the engine is hot and the temp. slider is at 'Hot' are you getting hot air?
Could just be a loose cable/sticking water valve/air lock.

When the controller is on 'Screen' and pulled out on 'Boost', and the other controller is on 'Hot', I get a bit of warm air coming out of the
screen vents, but it doesn't really blow. It's more of a waft, even when the engine is hot.
Mind you, it was very warm in the cabin (from the engine) but still lots of mist, both inside and outside the screen.
I think you're probably getting at the fact that my vents might be blocked, which I've just realised might be the case. The 'eyehole' vents are
good though.
The outside of the screen really shouldn't mist up though, or maybe the inside mist was just coming back right after I had wiped it. Really am
stumped on this one, but am going to have to resolve the issue as I could hardly see a thing!

If your getting a good blow out of the eyeball vents but not the same up the screen it could be that the baffles aren't moving freely/fully so
that when you slide to 'screen' not all the air is getting redirected.

You could could try a bottle of anti-fog stuff they sell in halfords etc...?
The de-misting of our cars is not comparable to modern cars.
Always remember my dad opening the windows in the 70's

Haha! Yes, that seemed to be the only thing that would solve the problem (although only slightly)! The corner windows next to the
windscreen are great for this, as well as for general ventilation!
Modern cars.... where would the fun be?!

Don't be too hard on our cars re their fogging-up, the worst fogging up I have experienced was a mid 1980's Ford XR4i, and a mid 1980's
Volkwagan Scirocco.

By the way Arthur, sick-on number plates, technically, are not legal. Wanted to remove mine too, for better cooling, but instead
attached it to spoiler.
