Others knock them, but I am fully in favour of the Haynes manual for a practical approach and quite good photos. (More recent ones for modern cars are
naff and dumbed down, but Herald one is pretty good, and so is the Vitesse/GT6 from what I have seen).
The earlier Autobooks one is pretty good too, I have used one of them, but don't know if they cover the later GT6.
There used to be a good series of small hardback manuals by Piet Olyslager in a Sunday Times series (don't know what connection there was with the
newspaper!) Don't know if there was one on the GT6, but 2000, Herald and Vitesse were covered. Not a step by step guide like Haynes, but comprehensive
specs, diagrams and text geared to an experienced mechanic.
If you want part numbers, you will need the factory parts manual. The only workshop manual which will give any part numbers is the factory one, and
ideally you need both. They are available, in both paper and CD format.
