I know what you mean! Everyone else always finds these great barn finds, which are usually low mileage and rare etc. and we never
do!
However, when I went to Brighton Uni 3 years ago I stayed at a farmhouse just outside Lewes and what did they have have stashed away at
the back of an old shed covered in thick dust with cloths half over it and farm equipment in front? It was a Triumph 2.5PI, their old
daily driver. It still looks in really good condition too even though it hasn't moved in over 20 years. Sad really.
Right up until I left I was working hard trying to get them to sell it to a Triumph enthusiast, but no luck! Apparently the car was in
an accident that was not their fault and it had to have a new engine fitted as a result. This was 2 years before they parked it up in
the shed!!!!
Most barn finds really are pure chance and nothing else. The family I stayed with had 'forgotten' about their old car until I mentioned
it to them on my first day exploring the grounds!! Even though I turned up in my GT6!!
