Congratulations Graham...just watched top dog (and taped it)

GT6 is King, King I tell you....

you must post a picture of your lovely plaque that surely must say "the MG is a bit agricultural"... they actually said that

  ....And how insanely biased were the panel?! How on earth did they come to the conclusion that the MG was easier to work on?! Loved it when the owner said the MG was a sports car and the guy in the middle on the panel put him back in his place though!

    Did you notice that everything that they said abot the MG as a plus point was equally applicable to the GT6?
    
    Cheap Sports car, Easy the work on, easy to maintain, great to drive, feel like a million &163; even though you don't need to spend it.
    
    Did you also notice that the MG desperately needs a new paint job.
    
    I've seen a couple of these programmed now and I have to say I think it is... Bad. The only panellist I have any respect for is the guy in the middle. The Journo, Jon Lakey, is the normal kind of journo pratt, who doesn't have all the facts so makes up what he doesn't know, and the "Automotive Development Engineer"... read spanner man, Ron Rutra, simply doesn't understand what a classics are all about... another pratt. I suppose they just got hold of whoever was passing by at the time... 1 out of 3... not exactly a good hit rate

      Well, I saw it (and the following 6 hours) and I think Reeksy did us proud, although he did look a bit like a startled rabbit caught in headlights at one point. Also Graham could put a sentence together which is more than the MGB guy could "its a fun car and its lots of fun cos its fun".
      
      So Graham what's next (he's on holiday at the moment)? Now you're moving down south are you going to brag to the girls of Wokingham that you're a proclaimed 'Top Dog' on Granada Men & Motors?
      
      Agree with what you say about the panel Nig but Ron Rutra did change his mind but then he had to really faced with a ropey old bag of nails, cos that's what the MGB sounded like around the track! Can we invite the middle panelist, John Moon, to Stafford or something?
      
      Oh and I thought Penny Mallory was hubba hubba but then I like bellies and dodgy haircuts!

            It was a good laugh doing the whole show, but I have to stick up for the panelists and the production (even though i haven't seen it yet!)
            
            Before we started filming they had to decide which car each panellist was going to say they didn't like. John Moon (in glasses I think but i might have my Johns mixed up) said that he used to own a GT6 but currently owns an BGT, John Lakey I think used to own a GT6, but none of them wanted to be anti-GT6 at all. They all said that they really like it, and that seeing one in the flesh under the lights made it even harder. So Ron had to be the one who said he didn't like it - although he kept apologising to me (I did point out it's just a car!)
            
            John Lakey said that he was actually a good friend of one of the guys who started TSSC (sorry can't remember the name ) and he had become a convert to the Triumph 6 cylinder engine as a result, so he was the most on my side and confided that he thought it pants down beat the MG. He actually works at Castle Combe and does something high up there I believe ... Nig / Chris it would definitely be worth a word with him. E-mail me if you want me to get hold of him.
            
            Regarding the format of the show, it wasn't really planned to be a serious discussion as that would be far more costly and time-consuming, just a bit of fun (which it was - especially the track day! )

      I am trying to borrow a TV projector & screen set up to use at the International Weekend mainly for the British Grand Prix.
      
      If Nigel brings his copy of the programme, we'll show it a couple of times a day, we intend showing some Le-Mans video's etc when ITV are not transmitting BGP stuff.
