My GT6 is making some really bad grinding noises coming from the bell housing. My first instinct was that it was the helix gear on the starter not
disengaging as the starter was getting particularly hot, but when you dip the clutch the noise stops.
I have taken the starter motor out and all seems well. I need to take the gearbox out to replace the clutch release bearing in the near future, so it looks
like I will now be doing this at the weekend. Any suggestions as to what else it could be? Is it possible that some foreign object could have made its way
into the bell housing?

Very unlikely that a foriegn object has dropped in.........from painful experience................my vitesse box was the same and the main gearbox
bearing was about to throw its lot in.Drain the oil and check for bits of bearing at the bottom of the tub. There were rollers and bits of crap in the
oil when i drained mine.I hope i`m wrong obviously Ingrid.
