Having tried the "standard" front of radiator Kenlowe fan and found it to be unsatisfactory because it blocked ram air flow, I have fitted a "pull" type
from SPAL fans. The fitment requires slight modification to the nose of the crankshaft pulley & it's bolt.
The performance of this arrangement is (at least on my car) is significantly better than the previous arrangement that I tried.
If anyone is interested I have some photographs that I could post.

Peter,
I imagine that the fan must be very thin, what dia. of fan did you fit?
Good idea to do this, the surface area of a GT6 rad. is so small that its best not to mask any part of the rad area. I tried it with a Pacet fan and
went a bit mad and fitted one that was too large in dia. and consequently rubbed on the water pump boss. How do you control the power to the fan? I
have had a threaded hole inserted into the header tank into which I have screwed a thermostatic rad. switch- much better than the dodgy Kenlowe bulb
into top hose arrangement.
Have you ducted air into the rad. from the grille? I have blanked off part of the grille and this helps keep water temp. down. Essential to ensure that
all air entering the grill goes through the rad.

Hi, I am currently looking at ditching the old mech' fan and would be interested in any advice on fitting an electric one between the engine and
rad.
Tim, with your ducting is it simply like the spitfire ducting or do you include a bottom blanking plate?

Tim,
the fan I used is made by SPAL and is 2.05 inches deep. I cannot remember the diameter but I think it is 11 inches. It fits leaving a clearance
each side of the radiator core of about a quarter of an inch. The thermostatic control is from the previous Kenlowe installation.
I have some photographs of the modified crankshaft pulley nose and bolt etc. if you would like me to email them to you.
The arrangement gives clearance of about a half inch between the pulley bolt head and the electric fan motor.
I have (previously) fitted the club radiator valance onto original type side valances (cardboard ones) which only requires the addition of two new
holes.
