Andy,
It would probably come with a Radiomobile or similar. The trouble is that back then the UK radios were all MW/LW. You can get period radios converted
to receive FM to listen to modern stations but it can be quite expensive (£100 plus is not unusual). I got round this by acquiring a
German Blaupunkt "Frankfurt" radio which has FM (they were way ahead of us back then) as standard and dates from about 1975 and is really period
looking. These were really high-end kit, fitted to topend Mercs etc. Unfortunately, I had it fitted in my GT6 (see my profile, you can just see it in
the interior shot) but the car is noisy, and suppression is nigh on impossible with a fibreglass bonnet that I lost interest (I just listen to the
Webers now)!
Therefore, I might let it go to a good home. It owes me a bit of money (purchase and servicing). In fact, a point to note when buying old (or NOS)
tranny radios, they had components (especially capacitors) that decay & degrade over the years regardless of use and need changing to ensure
reliability ( so be careful what you buy), I had this done. I guess you would need to see & test the radio and "horse trade" a little if you wanted
it. I will be at Stafford, if you are still looking then, come and see me.
