Hi ,
Does anyone out there know if there is any difference between a mk2 dash and a mk3 dash ?

The wooden piece of the dash itself is essentially the same. The only difference is to the heater control insert which is the other way round on a MKII
compared to a MKIII. On a MKII Hot is on the right whereas on the MKIII it and on Spitfire MKIV and 1500's Hot is on the left as the heater valve works
the oposite way round.
The reason I know this is that my MKIII has a MKII heater valve fitted (it was like this when I bought it) and I searched around autojumbles for ages
to find a MKII heater control insert. I only found this out by chance when I noticed a freinds MKII had a different dash insert, up until then I
couldn't understand how my car could be hot when the heater was set to cold and vice versa!!!!!

The MkII has a dash mounted ignition/starter switch and the MkIII has a column mounted one. So I would expect the dashes to be different, unless
the MkIII just has a blanked over hole.

Van,
I forgot about that, you are right, the MKII had the ignition switch next to the chocke cable so it did have an extra hole in the wood compared
to the MKIII.

Something must be wrong with my heater control. It just says "hot" and "hotter."
