Now that the summer is here, I notice that the temperature in the car seems high. There seems to be alot of heat generated around the heaterbox / gearbox
tunnel. Is this normal for a GT6 Mk3.
I suspected the heater valve may be faulty, so fitted a new one. Could the coolant pipes be fitted incorrectly? I am not sure where the coolant flows if
the heater valve is shut. Anyone got any advice.

Yep, pretty normal.
Its all the heat from the g'box and back end of engine.
Make sure the tunnel fits snug.
One or two foil backed type heat reflecting materials (like the stuff you put behind radiators), you could try one of them - stick to external face of
tunnel with foil side out, may help reduce a little.
When heater 'off', i assume it just cuts out the loop through the matrix...
Cheers

Yep, sadly the heat is intense and that's why Triumph invented windows... I usually find it's easier to a) drive with the window down and the rear
quarterlights open, assuming it's not raining, and b) keep the heater blower on through the windscreen vents; the heater helps disperse some of the
extra heat from the engine on hot days and should all blow straight out the open window... I don't know if turning the heater off makes much difference
to running hot but in my mind, every little bit helps!!
