Help Fitting Inertial Reel Seatbelts

I bought some inertial reel seatbelts just before crimbo and have just started to fit them. My question is what are the best points to fit the belts to on the gt6??

I figure the lap strap should be fixed to the floor just behind the seat (existing fixing point for my old fixed belts). However how do you go about fixing the mid-point fixing. (the one that normally rotates and usually is attached to the pillar (by your shoulder)??

And what about the reel itself?? The original fixing was on the wheelarch but the reel has to be fitted upright? It would fit behind the seat but that leaves no room for the lap strap fixing?

The instructions which came with the belts are next to useless and only deal with modern clone box setups....I would have thought that coming from rimmers there may be some Triumph specific instructions or at least an additional fact sheet....NOT IMPRESSED !!

I had the same trouble with mine, the instructions were terible.
I asked on a visit to TSSC HQ.
they said to fit the inertia reel itself low down on the inside of the rear wheel arch, as this unit has to be mounted verticaly or else it wont work.
this does involve drilling a fresh hole so dont forget your rustproofing.
The club shop can sell you a plate to mount on the outside of the wheel arch if one did not come with the kit. You then use the original mounting point on the wheel arch for the D ring, and the mounting point on the door pillar is not used at all.
this does mean that when you take the belt off it ends up behind you but no one said a GT6 was ergonomic (my god thats a big word for so early in the year).

  There was a small plate that came with the seatbelts but from the diagram in the instructions it is to be used inside the car. I guess load spreading washers are used outside? Or is there a better plate to be used externally?

    these plates are about 3" by 2", square, and have a nut welded to them for the bolt to screw into.
    They also have a second hole for a nut and bolt to stop the plate rotaiting.
    if your kit is the same as mine (unipart) it wont be included.

      The plate I have is the same as the one in the club shop picture above. It does not have a nut welded to the back, nor could I find one anywhere in the online shop. Do I have to call them to buy one?

        i dont think they are in the catalogue, i just asked when i was there.
        I'LL try to photograph it and post the photo on the mesage board. it may take a while coz i keep my car in the warehouse at work over winter and i'm out on the road all the time at the moment.
        should get there some time next week.

    So just where do you hang the belt without it disappearing? I hang mine on the rear quarterlight handle. Perfect place for it.

      I usualy put the belt round the headrest, although you usualy bang your nut on the buckle as you get in.
