My passenger seat belt has a mind of it's own, usually being very stubborn! Is it possible to take it to bits and solve the problem, or once it has started
sticking is it time to buy new ?? There again, it does give me some merriment watching passengers determined not to be beaten, patiently trying to ease it
out, ending in red faces and verbal abuse ! Helen

Helen,
The inertia reel mechanism is quite sensitive to orientation. What I mean by this (in case anyone is wondering!) is that the axis of the reel must be
horizontal. If not, the mechanism will lock as the belt is pulled out, so take a look at how it is mounted.
If the mounting angle is OK, you can try spraying a small amount of WD40 into the ratchet mechanism and working the belt backwards and forwards. If
this doesn't improve matters, then I would try a new belt.
Good luck,
Nigel
