I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems that I have encountered with the club supplied kit. Fitted to my Mk3, first problem was that on the
off-side the strut scraped against my K&N's, got around this by moving the top of the struts to the inner part of the wheel arch (which just about
clears the 'crossover' when closed. Fine.
Now I've come to fit the front bumper, and the bonnet hinges sit so far forward that they will hit the bumper above the overriders. Can't see how I can
prevent this - seems the upper arm of the struts need shortening! Has anyone had any similar problems or have a remedy for my current frustration.

Peter. These problems have all been aired on the Spitfire section (look under 'bonnets' in the archive: there are photos!). A brief resume is that (1)
you have to fit them to the wheel side of the arch top clear the intake hoses. (2) you mount them the other way round to the photographs in the
catalogue otherwise the piston seals do not get lubricated. (3) you need to put spacers between the bumper mounts and the actual bumper (5mm did for
me) to stop the bonnet hinge bracket hitting the bumper top edge. Also the strut mounting bracket bolt holes did not line up with those on the chassis
in my case, so an awful lot of fettling was required. Once these are all tended to you can step back and admire your handiwork. I shall certainly be
fitting them to my GT6 when the time comes. Good luck.
