No idea what sort of Cobra seat I have but I did find that if I put 20mm spacers under the front of the subframe (the original Triumph one) it made the
front of the seat higher and I could put it nearer the tunnel than I could have done without the spacers and that got round the B-post problem. Also
made it a more comfortable angle.
I recovered it in vinyl about 8 years ago and replaced the foam tubes around the metal side tubes with thinner ones and took a bit of the foam out of the base too. This made it better - I expect you won't want to do this with new seats, but you might like to try the spacers.

It's amazing how very small our cars are inside, compared to modern ones.
I managed to squeeze two OMP 'Eco's into the Sb - they do an even cheaper one, the TR-S (!!!) that is side mounted.
An alternative would be a Kirkey seat, as in Binman's SuperSix. They look so cool, I'm amazed that Vinnie doesn't have four.
They also look uncomfortable, but 3000miles in the 10CR says they are comfortable.
You need a classic style, narrow backed seat.
Acording to a rather old Europa Specialists Spares catalogue:
Cobra sell a 'Classic' (490mms wide), and a 'Cub' (445 at the seat squab, 340mm at the top of the back).
Corbeau sell another 'Classic', an 'Alpine' and a 'Clubman' that all lack the shoulder extensions that make it difficult to fit.
Intatrim sell six different narrow back models
Richfield sell five that are less than 500mm wide at the base and less than 400 at the back top.

I had the Cobra Roadster 7 seats in my GT6, they just fitted and were mounted on fabricated sub frames in a fixed position. I have seen them mounted on a modified Triumph seat sub frame but this makes them a bit higher. I also had to tilt them back as I felt they were still too high for me ( I'm 6ft tall ). They were replaced in the end by standard seats. I got mine from Europa spares, they are also stocked by Demon Tweeks, they are not in the new catalogue but there was one in the showroom when I visited yesterday.
