I hope they do compress a bit, or else you are in for a lot of bump-steer.
That tie-rod is at an extreme angle to the rack.
But you're going to add about 400lbs of engine, and a bit more than that as body over the front axle, so wait and see.
Are your GAZ shocks adjustable? You seem to have the lower seat as low as poss already.

Yes those GAZ shocks are adjustable and yes they are all the way down. I've already had 500 lbs of my friends on the front end, they did not
compress. Sadly...
I have found another pair of chrome springs at a local performance parts shop, their about half the size and can hold a 350 chevy sb so I might
go with those. We will see...
