Hi All,
Can anyone advise where I can buy some good quality wheel nuts for minilite wheels on a GT6? The ones I had supplied with the replica wheels are pretty
rubbish quality as the threads shear off it the wheel nuts are done up anymore than finger tight!!
Cheers

Hi Ed
I got my nuts ( ooeer ) from the TR shop in West London. Have had no probs with them.
Cant remember the address but if you search for TR shop you should find it.

If you really want to have studs which donÂ’t break, then the solution is to change to the larger M12 type as fitted to the rear of
Montegos or Maestros. These are much beefier than the Triumph 7/16th types and are a straight swap. The photo shows the comparison.
You need to get the correct wheelnuts for the taper on your wheels. The old club alloys (Alleycats) use 120 degree ‘Wolfrace
‘ nuts which require taper converters (the nuts are M12x1.5 with a 41/64th shank). If your wheels are steel or narrow taper alloys
then the nuts are easy to obtain.

Ed, which make of replica wheels are you talking about that supplies crap nuts?
I have some MWS replicas I bought at Stoneleigh in 2006 still in their boxes and if the nuts are useless I would like to know before I fit them.

Hi Lindsay,
Mine were from MWS. No problems with the actual wheels or centre caps just the nuts that were supplied aren't upto much!

we have minator , minilites on our vitesse6 got some 12mm studs from jon wolfe and domed nuts, studs easy to fit
just a small shamfer on the head to clear the machined radius on the front hubs and pulled the rears in with the wheel nuts
had to shorten the studs to make sure they didnt bottom out, they are just coned nuts without the spigot,, then torque to 60lbft.

I bought Mini wheel nuts off eBay, they are as good as any for the price. I always use a torque wrench to tighten, you'd be surprised how
easy it is to overtighten when the standard setting is only 60 lbs/ft - half he problem is we all use a nice big breaker bar and you kinda
loose the "feel" when tightening.
The thicker stud conversion is a good idea or just change all the stud for standard new ones - that way you know what they've been through!
