They were "too much" for my 1147cc engined Spitfire. So I decided to use them on the GT6.
They are 5,5" x 13"
1. Which would be the best tyre dimension for them? I am thinking of 165/70R13. Would it be ok?
2. Should I buy some spacers and longer wheel studs? (especially for the front axle)
3. I am going to use the GT6 for FIA Historic Regularity Rallies. Would it be a good idea to use the cosmics instead of the factory steels?
4. Is there going to be any damage caused on some of the car's parts (i.e. steering rack, rear axles) if I use tyres that they are wider than the factory
ones?
Many thanks in advance,
Nassos

Nassos,
Please do NOT use alloys on rally cars, they can easily shatter if you slide sideways into rocks or kerbs...
A member of TSSC Belgium had a bad accident rallying his Vitesse a few years back, when two of his alloy wheels shattered and he rolled over and over
down a ravine in his convertible Vitesse.
He was lucky not to get killed, but the car was completely destroyed.
He told me that if he had been on steels, then such an accident would not have happened!
Good Luck
Léon
