I've been spending quite a lot of time, and money come to think of it, on updating the suspension on my gt6 mk2 - things like superflex polybushes all
around, lowered springs, adjustable spax, Kenlowe fan etc (all of which, by way of support, I bought from our tssc club shop - and I'm real sorry to say,
at a substantially higher price than most of the approved traders I only found out about a day or so later - come on Nigel, you can do better!!!) Anyway, I
digress, all the time I've been fitting these parts, I've been aware that I should really look at refurbishing the original wire wheels, and buy new tyres,
since the ones on the car are Michelin X's, and I haven't seen these on any other car since around the 80's! I've had a look on the net and just get loaded
with far too much info, so I thought I'd best ask you lot before making a similar mistake to the aforementioned one!
Do wire wheels always require inner tubes? What are the best tyres to buy for these OEM w/w? I'd like slightly wider ones, but don't want to have to alter
the suspension set up, or end up wit a set where the tyre walls are bulging out.
Where's the best place to buy a set of tyres, and send the w/w for refurbishing?
Lots of q's I know. If anyone has any other advice about this subject please, fire away.
Regards,
Mark.
