Not that I've ever used them so I can't comment on quality or price but I believe that British Sports Car Spares in Goldhawk Road in Shepherds
Bush, London used to specialise in wire wheel conversion kits. Here is their website:-
I bought mine from Richard Bros in Canton Cardiff Tel 02920 229945. I already had the adaptors so only bought 4 wheels. They were grey stove
enamelled and were made in India under licence from Dunlop. It was cheaper than having the originals repaired (3 years ago). They will hold
balance reasonably but it's best to have them balanced at high speed or better still on the car (front ones only)The rear suspension hangs down
so far that the 1/2 shafts ride on the chassis rails. One further point :- the taper angle on the spinners must match almost exactly the taper
on the wheel, if not you only get point contact and the wheel may become loose despite the theory that they self tighten. You can check the
tapers by holding the spinner to the wheel and using "marker blue" check the contact when hand pressed against the wheel. there should be
sustantially more contact than a thin blue line.
