You may need to change metering needles as well. You certainly do when fitting K&N's to Spitfires. Strombergs are OK as they have INTERNAL venting
of float chambers, but SU's are external, at least on that age of SU design.
Some folks suggest that lack of cold air supply to filters is a disadvantage, and some dislike the extra air intake noise, but the better air flow and
ability to clean and re-oil these filters (meaning you never need to buy replacement elements again!) makes them worth doing in my book.

i have a standard manifold with triumph tune adaptors for the hs6s it is marginal and may be due to the fuel pipe which runs across the front of
the filters.
