Since my engine rebuild, I've had two flooded carbs in as many weeks. Previously I'd done 13,000 miles and never experienced it. The engine fitter has
fitted a new fuel filter beside the fuel sender. Previously it used to sit just in front of the carbs. I'm concerned that maybe grot is getting into the
carbs from the fuel line that used to be stopped further up by the filter - would there be any issues with fitting a filter at the carbs again ie using two
filters? - could it affect the fuel pressure?
When fixing the float chamber back to the carb, should the jet bushing screw be attached first and then the chamber over it? does it matter?

Are these the early adjustable jet CD150 carbs Andrew? I've not played with them so can't help.
As for the filter, apparently re-fitting the rubber sleeves on the fuel pipe back on to the carb can sometimes sheer bits off that then get into the
float bowl ... that might be your problem. Could you not try moving the filter down anyway, rather than putting two on? I'm not sure if it will affect
fuel pressure.
Good luck.

Thanks Graham. Yes, they are the early CD150s.
