Iv'e got a slight problem, can anyone help.
My car has been starting fine with no problems at all until today.
I went out for a drive came back parked her upfor 10 mins with the intention of going back out again.
Turned the key, the oil light came on as usual a slight click from the starter motor then nothing. Turn the key again nothing at all not even the oil
light, totally dead. So I assumed it was the battery, recharged it fully tried again, same thing. I then left the car for 1/2 an hour turned the key oil
light came on click from the starter then nothing no light nothing totally dead. So I recharged the battery and started over with exactly the same results,
then tried it with jump leads but nothing no lights nothing.
I just went back to it now the oil light came on on turning the ignition, a small click then nothing not even the oil light.
Help!!!!!!!!!

Your starter motor or solenoid have either failed of become disconnected.
Disconnect your battery then check and clean the connections from the solenoid to the starter, including the thick earth leads.
If this is satisfactory and still wont start, then you need to test you starter.
With ignition on check for voltage at starter.
If none then you have a problem with the solenoid.
If voltage but no action from starter, then the starter is at fault.
The 'clunk' you describe sounds to me to be the solenoid operating, however still test it.
